Irish-bred EIC Cooley Jump The Q (ISH) wins five-star London International Christmas Cracker

The 10-year-old gelding EIC Cooley Jump The Q (ISH), bred in Co Wicklow by Pam Walshe and ridden by Austria’s Max Kühner, added to their already impressive results at the top level of world Show Jumping, by taking victory in tonight’s (Saturday) 1m55 Christmas Cracker at London International Horse Show in the UK.

A hugely competitive 12 horse jump-off saw the Irish gelding and his Austrian partner finish as the only pairing to break the 30 second barrier to take the winners prize. French rider Julien Epaillard finished as runner-up with Hoover, while Co Down’s Conor Swail and the 10-year-old gelding Casturano continued their impressive form by taking third place overall.

Speaking after the class Kühner said: “It was a tight jump-off but that is always how it is with Julien, so I was really pleased with my horse and my round. The crowd here is fantastic and truly supports us as riders, it is what makes the London International one of the best shows in the world.”
