Conor Swail claims Kentucky Grand Prix win – Podium finish for Rincoola Milsean (ISH)

It was a fantastic result for Irish horses and riders in the early hours of this morning (Sunday) in the USA as Co Down’s Conor Swail guided Caturano to victory in the $225,000 Kentucky Invitational four-star Grand Prix, while the Harold McGahern-bred Rincoola Milsean (ISH) scored another impressive finish when taking third spot with Charlotte Jacobs (USA).

Six of the 38 starters jumped clear in the opening round to advance to the jump-off where Swail was at his brilliant best to take the win with a clear in 40.96 seconds. Egypt’s Nigel Nassar finished as runner-up with Igor Van De Wittemoere (41.48) while less than 24 hours after taking victory in the Welcome Stakes, Rincoola Milsean (ISH) jumped another brilliant double clear (42.39) to take third place on the podium with his American rider Charlotte Jacobs.

Irish Horse Board Director General Alison Corbally made a special presentation to Charlotte and Rincoola Milsean (ISH) as the highest-placed Irish-bred finisher in the Grand Prix.
