Superb results for Irish-bred Eventing horses on the world stage

Irish-bred Eventing horses enjoyed fantastic success on both sides of the Atlantic at the weekend, with a string of top placings in the UK and Canada. The Emma Phelan-bred Hot Bobo (ISH), ridden by Karl Slezak (USA), stormed to victory in the CCI4-S at Bromont International in Canada, with a clear round in the final jumping phase leaving them on a final score of 44.0. The CCI4-L at Bromont saw the Connemara Sport Horse mare No May Moon, bred by Nancy Winter, take victory with American rider Allison Springer. Second place went to the 11-year-old mare OKE Ruby R (ISH), bred in Co Tyrone by Martina McCrory and ridden by Waylon Roberts, while the Paddy Joyce-bred Sunday Times (ISH)[TIH][ finished fourth with Arden Foster Wildasin (USA).

Irish-bred horses were in stunning form at Defender Bramham International in the UK, filling all of the top four places in the CCI4*-L. The 12-year-old mare Annaghmore Valoner (ISH), bred in Co Offaly by Sinead Healion and ridden by Britain’s Harry Meade, scored a brilliant win, with clear Show Jumping and Cross Country rounds leaving them on a score of 31.3.
Second place went to Deerpairc Revelry (ISH), bred in Co Galway by Dara O’Malley and ridden by Max Warburton (GBR) on 31.5, while the Mary Brennan-bred MHS Seventeen (ISH) finished third with Rosalind Canter (GBR) on a score of 31.9. Cooley Snapchat (ISH), bred in Co Limerick by Alan Wheeler and ridden by Selina Milnes (GBR), completed the Irish domination with a fourth place finish.
