Irish Youth Show Jumpers score hat-trick of Nations Cup podium finishes in Germany

The next generation of Irish Show Jumping riders showed that the future is extremely bright, with a dominant display over the weekend at the Future Champions fixture in Hagen, Germany, scoring three Nations Cup podium finishes including two superb victories.

A fantastic performance from the Irish U18 (Junior) team of Jack Kent (Indiana Jones), Alice Wachman (Killarney), Annie Boland (Calisto Blanc) and Tabitha Kyle (BP Goodfellas (ISH) saw them take victory on Friday in the Nations Cup. Ireland finished on a two round total of just four faults, which saw them finish one fault ahead of the home team from Germany who took runner-up spot, while Belgium finished third.

On Saturday at the same venue, the Irish pony team of Sam Widger (Western Ranger), Charlie Flynn (Montana), Ruben Foley (Cracher) and Lily Tunney (Fireman) stormed to victory in their Nations Cup with a flawless display to finish on a zero score. Britain were runners-up on 4 faults ahead of Germany in third.

The Irish U14 (Children On Horses) Show Jumping team almost made it three Irish Nations Cup wins when they narrowly missed out on victory after a three-way jump-off on Saturday afternoon. The Irish quartet of Honor Bills-Everett (Godiva Quality), Elsie Tunney (Flexible Flight), Georgia de Bromhead) and Lucia Keane (Elia) finished level on 4 faults with Britain and The Netherlands after the first two rounds. Britain went on to take victory in the jump-off ahead of the Dutch in second and Ireland in third.
