Irish Show Jumping team climb leaderboard on Day 2 at European Championships

The Irish Show Jumping team of Denis Lynch (Vistogrand), Seamus Hughes Kennedy (ESI Rocky (ISH), Bertram Allen (Qonquest de Rigo) and Darragh Kenny (Eddy Blue), have moved up three places and into fourth after a brilliant performance today (Friday) at the 2025 Longines FEI Jumping European Championships in A Coruña, Spain.

Three perfect clear rounds from Lynch, Hughes-Kennedy and Kenny kept the Michael Blake-managed Irish team on their first round score of 8.39 penalties and they are now less than a fence off Belgium who are in the Bronze medal spot on 4.61. Great Britain hold the lead on 3.96 ahead of Germany in silver on 4.19. The European Championships team medals will be decided following one more round of jumping on Friday afternoon.

On the individual standings, Kilkenny’s Seamus Hughes Kennedy is best of the Irish in 12th position, while Tipperary’s Denis Lynch is next-best of the Irish in 13th with the individual medals to be decided on Sunday.
