Glencarrig Douvan crowned Supreme Champion as Connemara Pony Show Clifden celebrates 100 years

The Connemara Pony Show in Clifden, Co Galway this week celebrates 100 years of the Connemara Pony Show attracting owners, breeders and visitors from all over the world. This years festival celebrates the centenary with a host of exciting events.
The prestigious title of Connemara Pony Show Supreme Champion on it’s 100th anniversary was awarded to the 7-year-old stallion Glencarrig Douvan, owned and bred by Patrick Curran. A prolific winner at shows across Ireland throughout 2025, Glencarrig Douvan (CP) is by Glencarrig Knight (CP) out of Wyncroft Dawn who is by Laerkens Cascade Dawn.

The Reserve Champion title went to Castle Charm, owned and bred by Henry O’Toole and by Glencarrig Knight out of Castle Urchin. Alson with the Reserve Champion title, Castle Charm was also named Broodmare Champion.

Reserve Champion Broodmare is Glencarrig Rosie. Owned and bred by Gearóid Curran, Glencarrig Rosie is by Glencarrig Prince out of Glencarrig Spring Rose.

The Junior Champion went to Moate Echo who is owned by Malachy Gorham, bred by Vincent Kelly and by the sire Magherafadda Lad out of Derrynamacka Rose.

The Reserve Junior Champion went to Moorland Snowdrift, by Lucky Rebel out of Kilpatrick Snowdrop, owned and bred by Cathy Snow & Martin Coyne.
The ‘Connemara Pony Show-Clifden’ committee consists of Mary Coyne (Chair), John Sweeney, Karen Mannion, Terrence O’Toole, Cllr. Eileen Mannion and Cllr.
