After a very successful first auction in 2024, the second Stride Horse Auction in Ireland will take place from December 2nd-4th 2025. The auction will include over 20 young horses raised in Ireland that have been carefully selected with the view of progressing into showjumping, eventing or all-rounder careers.
Organised by Ronan Rothwell of the renounced Boleybawn Sport Horses, Stride Horse Auction was born out of a passion for Irish Sport Horses and a desire to make the buying and selling process more accessible, trustworthy, and efficient for Irish breeders, producers, and buyers around the world.
“Last year we ran a very successful Boleybawn three-year-old auction in December and this year we had just six of our own horses to offer so it made logical sense to combine the Boleybawn and Stride Auction and include horses from other breeders and producers around Ireland,” Ronan Rothwell explained.
“We had a great response from vendors wishing to offer horses with us and I think we have a great collection to offer now.”

Asked what makes this collection stronger than the first one, Rothwell added:
“Well we have 21 horses in total including 19 three-year-olds, a four year-old and one very special five-year-old that has a very impressive show record already. The three-year-olds are very high quality, several are broken and riding. some could be eventers or jumpers and we definitely have some future stars. Our main goal is to provide a hassle-free and trustworthy service for clients from all around the globe to buy carefully-bred showjumpers raised in Ireland.
Ronan outlined what makes Stride Horse Auction stand out from other Irish auctions:
“All our horses have been viewed in the flesh by myself and I am on the end of the phone to give a frank and honest description of every animal. We would encourage buyers to view the horses themselves before they buy but in the event they cannot, they should call me and I can advise them on every horse in the collection. Other auctions in Ireland have selectors employed but at Stride I take full responsibility and I understand what we are offering.”
Asked about any particular highlights he would like to mention, Ronan said:
“The five-year-old mare; Isla Flight by Ganesh Hero looks special . She has already won a judged five-year-old jumping class at Mullingar during the summer and she has a fantastic way of jumping. She would be an ideal horse for an ambitious young rider or someone that wants a good six-year-old for Dublin next year.
“We have an electric three-year-old jumper by New Pleasure VDL offered by George and Jordan Campbell from Northern Ireland. They produced the exciting Grand Prix horse, Pablo C and this looks like another star to come out of their stable.
We also have a three-year-old by SVS Je Taime Castlefield being sold by Brian Hutchinson, he looks like a sure fire Grand Prix horse and his dam bred our auction topper last year. We also have some very nice horses that could be eventers or jumpers and or the rider/breeders we have a very talented Chacoon Blue three-year-old filly from the full sister of MHS Going Global that Greg Broderick jumped in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.”
The full collection of horses on offer will be live on Saturday 22nd of November 2025 and the online auction runs from 2nd-4th of December 2025 on www.stridehorse.auction.
