Mikey Pender guides Thomas Hughes-bred HHS Catwalk (ISH) to victory at National Balmoral
Today’s (Sunday) Showjumping Ireland Premier Grand Prix at the National Balmoral Championship saw Irish-bred horses fill the top two places, with Kildare’s Mikey Pender partnering the Thomas Hughes-bred HHS Catwalk (ISH) to victory after a hugely competitive 16-horse jump-off.
Pender and the Bravo Hughes-owned 11-year-old mare stopped the clock clear in 45.04 seconds to take the win. Second place went to another Irish-bred as the Stephen Keane-bred DHF Lift Off (ISH), ridden by Kevin Gallagher crossed the line clear in 46.42. Mikey Pender also took third place, this time with the Marion Hughes-owned Chacco Bay in a time of 47.20.
